The following six lots are the propety of Ashley Kozak Ashley Kozak has been an important figure in the pop and rock business for four decades, first as a musician and more notably as a manager and agent. After working with eminent jazzmen like Ronnie Scott, he joined Britain's first Rock and Roll band, Tony Crombie & the Rockets. In the 1960s he worked with top artists like the Beatles (via an association with their manager, Brian Epstein, and his NEMS Organisation) and Donovan, who he managed throughout the singer's most successful era. It was while working with Donovan that Ashley Kozak invented the concept of 'flower power'. Inspired by seeing Indian musicians performing on stages bedecked with flowers, he hired a helicopter to fly above a prestigious Donovan concert at the Hollywood Bowl, and drop flowers over the audience. His idea was quickly taken up by many other musicians and managers, and became one of the trademarks of the 'Summer of Love'. Besides the Beatles and Donovan, Ashley Kozak was a close friend and contact of many late 60s stars, including Jimi Hendrix and Marc Bolan, who were regular visitors to his home.
