A rosewood writing desk, the superstructure with a central arcaded open section flanked by cupboard doors enclosing drawers above three further drawers and pull-out leather-lined surface with two panelled frieze drawers on turned and fluted supports joined by a concave sided plinth, late 19th century -- 32in. UNUSUALLY THIS PIECE HAS SOLID ROSEWOOD DRAWER LININGS COUPLED WITH THE USE OF MAPLE AND OAK WHICH MIGHT SUGGEST A COLONIAL ORIGIN; ITS QUALITY, HOWEVER WOULD POINT TO EUROPE AS ITS ORIGIN OF MANUFACTURE.
