Ernie Blenkinsop was born in Cudworth, Yorkshire on 20th April 1902. He joined Sheffield Wednesday in January 1923 from Hull City. In 1934 he joined Liverpool and thereafter played for Cardiff City, Buxton and during W.W.II assisted Bradford and Hurst. Blenkinsop made 26 full England International appearances between 1928 and 1933 and played for the Football League on 8 occasions. Apart from winning a Division II Championship medal with Sheffield Wednesday he also won Division I Championship's with the club in 1929 and 1930
