JOE DAVIS
Joe Davis was born on 22nd May 1941 and joined Third Lanark who at that time were managed by George Young, from Shettleston Juniors in 1961. He made in excess of 80 appearances for Third Lanark before being transferred to Hibernian in 1964 for (10,000. The late Jock Stein was manager of Hibs at the time and he soon became an integral part of the Easter Road side making in excess of 280 appearances for the club, including the Scottish League Cup final of season 1968-69. Thereafter, Davis joined Carlisle United.

Lot Essay
In the Glasgow Cup final, season 1962-63, played at Hampden Park, Third Lanark defeated Celtic 2-1. This was the last-ever trophy won by Third Lanark as they ceased to exist after 1967.
