Thomas J. Taylor joined Arthurlie F.C. in 1930. In 1932 he became secretary/manager and in 1936-37 he managed the side to the Scottish Junior Football 'double' when Arthurlie won the Scottish Junior Cup and the Scottish Central League. In 1937 he became a Life Member of the club and in recent years has become the Honorary President. He was, on at least two occasions, offered senior management positions but declined both offers preferring to remain with the club, earning him the nickname "Mr. Arthurlie".
