A gourd cricket cage of natural form with ivory mounts and inset tortoiseshell cover deeply carved with two confronting phoenix among flowering branches and pine issuing from rockwork below an inset pearl among clouds, all above another panel carved to simulate a bamboo fence -- 5 in. high, 18/19th century, wood stand and plush box.
