A pre-Khmer stone bodhisattva of Kubera seated with one hand placed on his right knee, the figure with tightly curled hair and pendulous ear lobes, a slightly corpulent belly, all on a rounded oval base -- 18½in. high, 5th/6th century.
Provenance: the present family acquired this figure at the beginning of the century in the town of Bathe, the Oc-eo area, Cambodia.
