A walnut and ebony-banded buffet, of breakfront D-shaped outline, with crossbanded bordered burr-veneered panels, the hinged top enclosing a griotte marble panel and hinged shelf, the anthemion-carved frieze fitted with a drawer, with two open tiers below, on foliate-headed scroll tapered stiles, on a plinth base with moulded feet, possibly German, late 19th century -- 53in. (135cm.) wide, 18½in. (47cm.) deep 41in. (104cm.) high (closed), 57½in. (146cm.) high (open).
