A pair of Coalport Sèvres-style vases and covers painted with rural scenes, one of a man fishing in a mill-stream, the other of a horseman and companion set upon by a dog as they leave a village, within stylised gilt borders and reserved on a pink-ground, panels elswhere painted with flower-sprays and miniature landscape vignettes, with moulded looped 'rope' handles, the covers with chain link finials, above square-section plinth bases (spreading hairline cracks, wear, possible repair to one foot), gilt marks, circa 1851-61 -- 13½in. high
