A black basalt teapot and cover
moulded to commemorate Nelson's victories in the Peninsular War, to one side with a scene of Britannia crowning a bust of Nelson with a laurel wreath while Fame blows a trumpet, to the other with the inscription India Portugal & Spain VITTORIA 21st JUNE 1813 all on an acanthus-moulded ground beneath a laurel-wreath border, with lionshead spout and swanshead handle, the cover with fruit finial -- 12in. (30.5cm.) wide, circa 1814 (minor chips)
