A Victorian four-piece octagonal baluster tea and coffee service on scroll feet and with scroll handles, each engraved with chinoiseries and scrolling foliage and with foliate cartouches engraved with monograms and flowers, the teapot and coffee pot with panelled rising curved spouts and domed hinged covers with pointed hexagonal finials, the teapot and coffee pot with contemporary presentation inscriptions:"Presented to John Bosworth Esq. by a number of friends as a testimony of the high esteem in which he has been held by them during the residence in Preston whilst connected with the erection of the Fulwood Barracks Aug. 7th 1848", probably R., J. & J. Williams, Exeter 1848, retailed by Mayer, Silversmith, Liverpool - height of coffee pot 10¼in., 67.25oz. (4)
