A rare Victorian silver-topped glass scent bottle, the brown/green body cut to resemble an alligator's head, moulded with a Patent Registation Number 18108, the screw top engraved with initials, a date and crest, Sampson Mordan , London 1885 - 5.3in overall, in original retailers' case, the interior lid printed "Hunt and Roskell, Late Storr and Mortimer".

This type of scent bottle are commonly associated with Webbs of Stourbridge, the employers of George and Daniel Pearce. A similar example was sold by Christie's when the Pearce collection was sold in 1966.
