A Japanese square tapering tokuri
with short flaring neck, painted and gilt with shaped panels of irises and prunus on a demi-kiku and scrolling folaige ground alternating with panels of coiled dragons and prunus branches issuing from rockwork, the shoulder with butterfly cartouches -- 9½in. (21.6cm.) high, circa 1700 (neck restored).
