with foliate rim, painted to the centre with birds perched on rockwork among peonies and chrysanthemums within a band of further chrysanthemums and interlacing foliage -- 7in. (17.8cm.) diam, Wanli; and a blue and white spitoon decorated with a fisherman seated on the banks of a river beside two lines of calligraphy, the neck with scattered flower sprays -- 3in. (7.6cm.) high.
