An ivory diptych sundial, face Ia with wind rose, stamped with thirty-two points divided 1-32, beginning at east, sixteen directions labelled in German, compass viewing hole and (part) brass arrow-shaped wind index, with leaf decorations, face Ib with holes for string gnomons, days, Zodiac signs and days numbered 16-8 8-16, face IIa with horizontal dial divided 4-12-8, with scales for latitudes 42°, 45°, 48° and 51°, compass dial with maker's mark 3 and cardinal directions, the bottom corners with dials for Italian time divided 10-23 and Babylonian time divided 1-14, each with pin gnomon, face IIb with lunar dial divided into Julian and Gregorian epacts, with brass vovelle, the border with maker's mark 13K, with leaf decoration, the side with brass cover to wind vane storage area -- 4in.(10cm.)long(lacks compass needle and glass), circa 1640
