Paint Sample Cards, mostly Military Series The number given first is the 'B' Suffix Number used as the Britains reference number; the conversion to the Set Number allocated by Britains has been acheived by consulting the original factory records. The description of each item is followed a note of any damage or additional information about each figure. In some cases the 'B' Suffix Number is the same as the subsequent Catalogue Number used by Britains for Bulk Lines (Circus, for example) or the 1957 Picture Pack issues. Bracketed descriptions refer to wording used as internal descriptions by Britains. Paint sample cards were devised in around 1937 for use in the factory as a guide to paint styles. The contents of these cards contents varied as a new or updated figure was produced, and it replaced the figure already allocated to that position on the card. All cards have been dated to around 1937; although this is the date of the start of the cards, figures manufactured at later dates are included on some dates. The conversion of the 'B' Suffix to the Catalogue Number uses the factory records mentioned above. Overall E; structural damage is noted.
