A terrestrial pocket globe, diameter 2 2/3 inches (70mm), 12 hand-coloured engraved gores, tracks of Anson and Cook's first voyage marked, Bleuler's selling imprint pasted over upper half of the maker's label, original light varnish, metal pinions (very occasional chipping of varnish). Contained in original imitation sharkskin case, metal clasps (case cracked in several places).
A rare example of Bleuler's reissue of J.B. Bate's pocket globe, with his label pasted over Bates' name. The Bate globe was a reissue of the N.Lane globe of 1807.
