In the inventory of the Palais de Bourbon, taken in 1779, there appears in the bed-chamber of S.A.S. Le Prince de Condé: Un feu orné de deux enfants qui se chauffent, sur leurs socle dor/ae d'or moulu.

A pair of chenets of this model were sold, Sotheby's, London, 16 June 1989, lot 108.
