Lot Essay

According to serial number information published by Rotoloni this camera was produced in October 1948 as part of a batch of seventy-six cameras numbered 60983-609158.
Correspondence with Rotoloni has confirmed that the lens is the earliest to be verified with the Nikon Historical Society database; the following confirmed lens numbers are 60921, 60929, 60939. Serial numbers of these lenses had the prefix '609' (as did the Nikon I camera body).
