A George I lidded tankard
of tapering circular form, on a flaring foot and with a moulded body band and rim, scroll handle and domed hinged cover with scroll thumb piece, later-chased and embossed overall with rococo flowers, foliage, C-scrolls, scalework and trelliswork and with a vacant C-scroll cartouche, also later gilt-lined, maker's mark indistinct, London 1723 - 7in. (17.75cm.), 23.25oz.
