with hinged cover and inner cover, painted to the exterior en gisaille with scenes of putti at various pursuits reserved on a blue-ground enriched in gilt with a diaper and ovolo pattern, painted to the interior with a scene of putti garlanding an urn, with gilt-metal mounts, the inner cover gilt with flower-sprays -- 4¾in. (12.1cm.) wide, the porcelain possibly 18th century, the mounts and some of the decoration later
