A very ornate maritime motif mantel clock, the centre comprising a striking clock with lever escapement (replacement platform), silvered dial with Roman hour numerals, blued steel hands, mounted within a ship's helm with eight spokes, to the right front an admiralty pattern anchor, to the left front a capstan with compass mounted in the top, above the helm a ship's navigation lamp containing an aneroid barometer with silvered dial and gilt surround, to each side at rear two signal purchase blocks with simulated two-lay brass ropes, the whole on black marble base with quarter-round edging -- 12½in.
