A well detailed late 19th Century fully planked and rigged model of the Royal Naval 40-gun frigate 'Endymion' of 1790 -- 21¾ x 31½in. (55.2 x 80cm.)
With bound masts, yards with stun's'l booms and foot ropes, standing and running rigging with scale blocks, carved lion figurehead, hair rails, anchors with bound wooden stocks, catheads, belaying rails and pins, gratings, canopied ship's bell, hammock nettings, balustrading, companionways, four ship's boats with bottom boards and thwarts, one in stern davits, upper and main deck guns in carriages, shot racks and shot, double ship's wheel and other details. The hull, planked and pinned with glazed and decorated stern and quarter windows, open and closed gun ports, is finished in varnish and black. Stand and glazed case (later)
