A 2-page autograph letter, signed, from 5 Endsleigh Gardens N.W., 21st October 1888, to an unknown recipient, discussing a poem: "I have read that lyric 'Psyche' twice through. My opinion is that it shows a sense of beauty and a grace of sound and rhythm, wh. [sic] make it stand well among compositions of its class, & (if it is the writing of a youthful author) I shall agree with Matthew Arnold in thinking that it 'shows much promise'"; together with 8 autograph letters by other nineteenth century artists including Alfred East and Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema; and 10 clipped signatures including those of Kate Greenaway, Walter Crane, Randolph Caldecott, Christina Rossetti, Edward Poynter, John Everett Millais, Harry Furniss, Charles Keene and Harrison Weir.
