Lot Essay

Also included in the lot are two typed letters from John Betjamin, signed, one dated June 22nd, 1936, on Shell-Mex-headed paper, stating: "I have never been to Bedminster, and am nervous about going there," the other dated June 13th, 1951, stating: "It is very kind of you to suggest that I should send a poem to "New Poems". But I have dried up completely in the last two years. If anything does come along I will let you have it for consideration but I fear I am forgotten and finished."
