the case with handle to bell top, gilt-metal quarter frets to front door, on brass bracket feet, the dial signed Sam.l Denton OXFORD on a silvered sector in the matted centre with calendar aperture, silvered chapter ring with pierced blued hands, foliate spandrels, strike/silent ring in the arch, the four pillar twin fusee movement now with anchor escapement, strike on bell, the backplate engraved with a basket of fruit amidst scrolling foliage, similarly engraved movement securing brackets to the case -- 20½in.(52cm.) high
