A YEW-WOOD AND PARCEL-GILT COMMODE
in the George II style of undulating outline, the crossbanded top with projecting angles and acanthus-decorated frieze fitted with two drawers, with lion-mask ring handles, enclosed by a pair of panelled doors below flanked by canted angles headed with stylised foliate boss and trailing bellflowers, the apron with Vitruvian scrolls centred by a scallop shell on square scroll legs with foliate and entrelac ornaments and scroll and foliate pad feet -- 49in. (124.5cm.) wide, 34in. 23¾in. (60.5cm.) deep, (86.5cm.) high.
