In the 1927-28 Scottish Cup final, played at Hampden on 14th April 1928 before 118,115 spectators, Rangers defeated Celtic 4-0.

Duncan Yuill joined Rangers from Dumbarton early in 1928 and although he did not participate in the Scottish Cup final of 1928 he was presented with a medal.
