An Arita blue and white clobbered bowl
Edo Period (Circa 1730)
Decorated in underglaze blue and enriched in green, black, iron-red and gilt enamels, the inner roundel enclosing two ears of corn and lotus leaves tied with a ribbon, the rounded sides moulded and painted with petal-shaped panels enclosing respectively small flowers issuing from rockwork, a stylised ho-o bird and a dragon, the exterior with a band of scrolling foliage, the base inscribed with a Fuku mark within a double square
