Lot Essay

Andreotti, educated at the Académie de Florence, is a prominent painter of 17th and 18th Century Italian costumes. His figures, mostly young and beautiful women, are either contemplating romance or are occupied with joy. Andreotti, in addition to his successful career in Florence, is also known to have exhibited at the Royal Academy in London between 1879 and 1883.
