AN AMLASH POTTERY VESSEL IN THE FORM OF A EWE
EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
The ovoid vessel resting on four short tapering legs, tall mouth with flaring rim rising from the back of the animal between the shoulder blades, the neck encircled by a ribbed collar and faint dotted collar just below, with three stippled lines running from the collar down the chest reaching around each foreleg, the diminutive head with alert ears, pinched nose and open mouth; and another similar, the ovoid vessel on four short legs, diminutive head, short upward-curling tail and tall mouth with flaring rim rising from the animal's back, early 1st millennium B.C., both repaired
