AN UR III BUFF AND ORANGE STONE CYLINDER SEAL
CIRCA 2100-2000 B.C.
With the sun-god, Shamash, one foot raised on a mountain, being approached by a goddess leading a worshipper, crescent above, a two-line cuneiform inscription "Ilum-bit, son of Zabnu", small edge chip; four Old Babylonian haematite and black stone cylinder seals, one with a suppliant goddess facing a deified king, between them a frontally facing nude goddess, a three-line inscription "Nûr-Ninshubur, son of Sin-Enlil-ashared, servant of Nin-shubur"; another with a goddess and deified king with triple-forked lightning and crescent above, a two-line inscription "Ahassun, slave-girl of Ninshenshenna"; another with a goddess, a frontally facing hero behind, a crook and solar-crescent in the field, a three-line inscription "Buhanum, son of Apil-Kubi, servant of Naram-Sîn"; and another with two suppliant goddesses with a fish, hedgehog and dwarf in the field, flanking a two-line inscription "(The god) Pabilsag ...", all circa 1900-1600 B.C.
