2o (541 x 345 mm). Letterpress title printed in red and black (ink and blind stamps). 108 hand-colored engraved maps (ink stamps on versos, without the world map, the plan of Paris and the map of Italy, some soiling and occasional spotting). 19th-century quarter calf (covers detached, worn).

One of numerous variations issued under this title by Covens and Mortier. Various combinations are found beginning in 1733. The present copy has a separate letter-press list dated 1742 of maps included. Some copies include the French version of Popple's American maps (see lot 167). Here, the American subjects include Carte d'Amérique, L'Am.rique septentrionalis, Carte du Canada ou de la Nouvelle France, Carte de la Louisiane et du Cours du Mississippi and Tabula Geographica Mexicae et Floridae, &c..
