T.M. HARDY T0 THE RT.HON GEROGE ROSE, DECEMBER 9TH, 1805: AUTOGRAPH MANUSCRIPT LETTER ABOUT THE REPORTING OF NELSON'S LAST WORDS
single folded sheet with watermark for G PIKE 1805 with extracts I am quite certain it was not Poor Lord Nelson's wish that his Private letters to Mr Davison or any other person should be published for he has often in disgust spoken on the subject to me. I have not or shall I mention a word he said to me except to the Parties concerned but I much fear but I much fear it was heard by many as we were not alone for a moment after the fatal accident. The Earl Nelson has written me a very pressing letter requesting me to send him his Brother's Private Letters etc.. Signed and dated 'Portsmouth, December 9th, 1805', contained within an archive slip within folder with copious additional notes, pictures, typed transcript and a facsimile copy of Nelson's last letter to Lady Hamilton
See illustration
Special notice
No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
