SATORU NAKAJIMA
An original racing helmet by Arai, The first Japanese driver in Formula One. Team Lotus driver from 1987 until 1989. Although he 'came' with the Honda engine-package he brought much experience with him, having been responsible for nearly all the Honda engine test-driving in Japan. He was number two to Ayrton Senna and then Nelson Piquet and performed very competently, at his best on very fast circuits and the first driver to carry an on-board camera.
This Arai helmet was used by Nakajima in 1987 and carries the identity of the Team's main sponsors "Camel", "Honda" and "DeLonghi", with personal-sponsor displays of "Epson", the right hand one being downsized so as not to offend when the on-board camera was operating.
