Rectangular form, made from a piece of oak from the Old Brig of Ayr, the hinged cover with applied silver panel engraved with a view of The Old Bridge of Ayr and inscribed 'Made of oak which formed part of the foundation of The Old Brig O' Ayr, 1252'
