The rounded rectangular hinged lid with central shaped oval pierced brass panel, similar spandrels to the angles, the underside fitted with a gilt-tooled leather folding games board, the frieze fitted with two hinged doors opening to reveal a fitted interior, with ivory and stained ivory Staunton pattern chess set (incomplete), two lift-out compartmented trays, the top tray with ivory and stained ivory draughts set, cribbage board and bone dominoes, the lower divided compartment with six painted cast lead figures of jockeys astride racing horses, a gavel etc, on moulded rectangular base
