A pair of silver mounted ivory Shibayama tankards
Meiji Period, impressed English silver hallmarks, Birmingham 1901
of tall cylindrical form with large c-scroll handles, inlaid in mother-of-pearl, coral, tortoiseshell, horn and stained ivory with pigeons, pheasants and various songbirds perched and in flight amongst prunus, peony, chrysanthemums, wisteria and foliage, the handles also with trailing flowering branches, the bases in glass, signature tablets at bases -- 11¼in. (28.5cm.) high, (age cracks).
