A large Imperial stem bowl
19th century
the deep bowl with widely flaring everted rim and short spreading foot, painted and gilt to the exterior with two blossoming prunus tress, the numerous branches trailing around the body and into the interior of the bowl, the foot with lappet shaped panels of lotus flowers below hanging floral pendants, the centre with a coiled dragon amongst cloud scrolls -- 12in. (30.5cm.) diam, signed Satsuma yaki Masanobu and with kakihan, (slight wear to the interior).
