Fanology or the Ladies Conversation Fan , a printed fan, the leaf a hand-coloured engraving in stipple and line, designed by Charles Francis Badini and published March 18th 1797 by Robert Clarke, 26 Strand, the ivory sticks carved and pierced with putti, alternating in pairs with pierced sandalwood sticks, the guardsticks of cut-steel - 10in. (25cm.), 1797 - in mid- 19th century fan box inscribed by Lady Charlotte Schreiber at the bottom, with her catalogue no. 38. 1374 and brief catalgue description (old repairs to leaf and two sticks replaced)
