TWO SYRIAN TERRACOTTA IDOLS
Circa Late 3rd-Early 2nd Millennium B.C.
Both sculpted with a flat body, angular shoulders and hips, the legs separated by a central groove, with applied disk navels, the abbreviated arms projecting from their bodies, their elongated necks supporting bird-like heads with pointed, pinched noses and disk eyes, with applied rounded necklaces, the smaller with a perforated headdress, the larger with a thick dotted band around her hips
