A Swansea sauce tureen and cover
the flat topped conical cover with bead moulded rim and pineapple finial, the tureen of circular section, with upturned spindle handles, painted and gilt in the Imari palette with sprays of flowers beneath a blue concentric line, the blue-ground border issuing similar sprays, pattern no. 223, iron-red script marks, circa 1820 (small chip to rim of tureen and crack to handle, light rubbing to gilding) -- 18.5cm. diam.
