When originally sold, it was noted that this car was believed to be a factory prototype wind tunnel model, converted to a pedal car by a Triumph worker, putting the probable date of manufacture to around 1952. As wind tunnel mock-ups are usually constructed to a smaller scale and made of malleable materials, it is probably more likely that this car was constructed as an apprentice's piece. The original construction and forming of the complex bodywork shapes was well executed and finished, with the lights formed of proper lead work not of shaped filler.
