A French brass and porcelain-mounted mignonnette carriage timepiece
No.207, retailed by Bailey & Company, Philadelphia, Circa 1875
The corniche case mounted with jewelled porcelain panels to the sides and rear door, the Sèvres style turquoise blue panels with gilt borders enclosing pictures of a gentleman with cape, a maid with flowers and a lady respectively, with red jewel mounts to the gilt (some lacking), the inside of the rear panel inscribed Haut porte 1111, the conforming dial portraying two lovers seated in a glade beneath the white Roman chapter ring with retail signature BAILEY & COMPANY PHILADELPHIA and within gilt borders, with delicately pierced and blued steel hands, the single barrel movement with silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, numbered 207 on the backplate
