A 19-inch (48.2cm.) diameter terrestrial relief globe made up of twelve chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes, raised with plaster covered with further chromolithographed paper, the equatorial and Greenwich meridian graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated but unlabelled, the oceans shaded according to depth, with warm and cold ocean currents and submarine cables, Antarctica with some portions of coastline and numerous dates of explorers' visits, the continents shaded according to height above sea-level, national boundaries shown in red, towns, cities and rivers marked, Russia showing (Petrograd) Leningrad (some minor loss to raised sections, some minor discolouration) with a stamped aluminium meridian half-circle, raised on a turned ebonised column and stepped plinth base -- 35in. (88.9cm.) high
