A French Exhibition skeleton timepiece with alarm, mid 19th century
Of typical form, with engraved Y-shaped plates and on brass inlaid ebonised plinth, the white enamel Roman dial chapter ring with skeletonized centre for a silvered alarm disc, blued steel moon hands, the single barrel movement with deadbeat escapement, with trip cord to the base for setting the pull wound alarm on campana bell, formerly under glass dome -- 9in. (23cm.) high
