A large Chinese blue and white botanical dish and a pair of plates en suite
Qianlong
painted with a branches of cloves, nutmeg and a pineapple with attached leaves, within borders of ruyi and geometric motifs -- 15¼in. (38.7cms) and 9in. (22.8cms) diam, (charger with chip to underside of rim and few rim nibbles).

The design is taken from Pierre Pomet, 'A Compleat History of Drugs', London, 1712, after an original drawing from the French version 'Histoire Generale des Drogues', Paris 1694. Pomet was chief pharmacist to Louis XIV. (3)
