A collection of approximately three hundred and fifty signatures, majority on publicity photographs, collected over a period of approximately thirty years from 1917, by Billie Smith, the stage door-keeper at the Garrick Theatre, subjects include: Tallulah Bankhead, Max Wall, George Formby, Anton Walbrook (2), Raymond Massey, Robert Donat (2), Joyce Grenfell, Frankie Howerd, Jimmy Edwards, Wee Georgie Wood, Arthur Askey, Max Bygraves, Vera Lynn, Merle Oberon, Eddie Cantor, Margaret Rutherford (2), Sybil Thorndike, Peter Ustinov, Eric Morcombe and Ernie Wise, Herbert Lom, Tyrone Power, Moira Shearer, Sophie Tucker, Margaret Lockwood (2), Norman Wisdom, Anne Crawford, Jackie Coogan and Jack Warner, largest -- 10x8in. (25.4x20.3cm.); accompanied by a page taken from The Tatler, 19th September, 1934, featuring Stage Door-Keepers Series: No. 2 - Billie of the Garrick; three photographs of Billie Smith in his office at the Garrick, the walls adorned with his collection; and two black and white snap-shots of Billie at the stage door (a lot)
