A rare Steiff Holland rabbit
with white mohair, pink glass eyes, stitched nose and mouth with whiskers, swivel head, jointed legs and ears --9¾in. (25cm.) high, circa 1913 (small bald patches, minor repairs and general wear)

Lot Essay

The Holland rabbit was the brainchild of Franz Steiff, Margarete Steiff's nephew. He developed the ball-and-socket jointed ears with their realistic movement in 1908.
