Sold with the recipient's orginal parchment Discharge Certificate.
Driver Charles Roberts was born in the Parish of Bungey, near Ipswich and enlisted in the Royal Artillery at Hythe in March 1878, aged 19 years. His subsequent services in the Egypt operations of 1882, and at the Battle of Tel-el-Kebir, are confirmed in the above Discharge Certificate. Roberts was discharged at Woolwich from No. 5 Field Battery, R.A., in April 1890.
